Dr. Angelica Perez-Litwin, PhD, MBA

Clinical Psychologist, Career Therapist & Professional Career Strategist

Founder/CEO, Lumin Center & Lumin Institute

My Approach

I work exclusively with high-achieving professionals who are experiencing career-related distress—the kind that goes beyond a bad week at work. My clients are physicians, attorneys, executives, entrepreneurs, engineers, therapists, and other driven individuals who have built impressive careers but find themselves emotionally depleted, disconnected, or questioning everything they've worked for.

From the outside, they look successful. On the inside, they're struggling with chronic stress, anxiety, emotional exhaustion, or a quiet crisis of identity—wondering how they got here and whether this is really all there is.

If that resonates, you're in the right place.

What Is Career Therapy?

Career Therapy is an integrated clinical approach I developed specifically for professionals whose careers have become a source of psychological distress—not just dissatisfaction. It combines the depth of traditional psychotherapy with targeted career health interventions, addressing the emotional, relational, and identity-level patterns that conventional therapy or career coaching alone often miss.

This is not standard talk therapy with a side career conversation. Career Therapy is a structured, evidence-informed process that includes comprehensive psychological and career assessments, proprietary diagnostic tools (including the Career Distress Index), psychoeducational resources tailored to your situation, and a personalized treatment plan that addresses your mental health and professional life as interconnected systems.

I draw on psychodynamic theory, somatic awareness, and cognitive-behavioral techniques to help you understand how you got here—and to build a concrete path forward. Whether the issue is burnout, career identity fusion, toxic work dynamics, or a major professional transition, Career Therapy is designed to help you move from crisis to clarity.

Who I Work With

My practice is focused on professionals in high-stakes, high-pressure industries who are navigating career-related emotional distress, chronic workplace stress, or burnout that has begun to affect their health, relationships, or sense of self. Clients typically come to me when they're dealing with:

  • Anxiety, depression, or emotional exhaustion tied to their careers

  • A growing disconnect between who they are and the role they're performing

  • Chronic stress from high-pressure roles, caregiving, or both

  • Career crossroads, imposter syndrome, or toxic work environments

  • Life transitions—divorce, relocation, grief—that intersect with career instability

  • A desire to build a career and life aligned with their values, purpose, and well-being

I'm especially passionate about empowering women to reclaim their voice, power, and vision for a more fulfilling life and career.

What to Expect

Clients describe me as deeply attuned, strategic, intuitive, and down-to-earth. I listen closely, ask the hard questions, and help you uncover the root patterns driving your distress—while also creating a clear, actionable path forward.

Because Career Therapy is a specialized, integrated service, it involves more than a standard therapy session. Your treatment includes in-depth assessment during the initial phase, access to proprietary psychoeducational materials and career health resources, a customized treatment plan that addresses both psychological and professional dimensions, and ongoing evaluation to track your progress. This comprehensive approach is reflected in the session investment.

In the Media

I have been featured nationally on The Today Show, Forbes, NPR, CNN, PBS, and many other media publications.
