Hello!

I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years of clinical and professional experience across different settings, including private practice, research institutions, community mental health centers, and skilled nursing homes.

In my private practice, I work closely with individuals who lead busy lives, whether due to a highly stressful job, being a parent, or juggling being a caregiver and other responsibilities. Many of my clients are challenged by anxiety and symptoms of depression and sometimes feel overwhelmed balancing work, life, and family. Others are experiencing a significant life transition -- the end of a relationship, a stressful life event, or becoming a caregiver to a parent/partner for the first time. I also work closely with individuals who feel burned out in demanding industries, including healthcare, legal, technology, and education.

My Therapy Style

My clients experience me as down-to-earth, welcoming, empowering, and highly empathic but straightforward. I also show great enthusiasm for the change and transformation many clients experience through therapy. My relationship with my clients is collaborative. I help them process past experiences, challenge negative thoughts, and learn coping skills that will serve them beyond our therapy sessions.

Professional Experience

For the past two decades, I've been in private practice, owning and leading two group practices in Greenville and Greer, South Carolina. Before this, I held a faculty appointment at the New York University School of Medicine, spearheading an NIH-funded research initiative at the forefront of Alzheimer’s and dementia studies. More recently, I was Director at the Prisma Health Addiction Research Center, overseeing research projects. I continue contributing as a consultant on various research endeavors within the center.

In 2020, fueled by my commitment to addressing our contemporary mental health crisis and reshaping the therapy landscape, I embarked on a new venture: the creation of Lumin — an innovative therapy group practice. My entrepreneurial journey with Lumin has been marked by previous collaborations with today’s leading technology companies and academic institutions such as Google and X (formerly Twitter) and Columbia and Harvard University.

My Specialty Areas & Expertise

Psychotherapy Treatment: I work with individuals who are challenged by anxiety, depression, stressful life transitions, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, career-related distress, burnout, workaholism, and unresolved childhood trauma. I also enjoy working with caregivers dealing with stress/distress from caring for parents or partners with early signs of dementia and those diagnosed with dementia (e.g., Alzheimer’s Disease).

Positive Psychology: I practice strength-based therapy to promote personal growth and self-actualization. Beyond improving my clients' mental well-being, I work with them to help them find joy, meaning, and purpose — for a more fulfilled life.

Career Distress Therapy: I offer 'Career Therapy' using an innovative therapy model I developed more than ten years ago. This integrated approach combines therapy and career coaching to help clients achieve emotional, psychological, and career well-being.

My Fees:

Therapy session: $190

Career Coaching: $250
